The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), HCC’s accrediting agency, wants to know if the Governing Board at HCC: “…is controlled by a minority of board members or by organizations or institutions separate from it.” The college responded to SACSCOC and insinuated that yours truly controlled the board.
Please read the letter below that was written by Johnathan Day on or about November 13, 2013, a few days after I was elected to the HCC Board. Mr. Day is head of the Political Action Committee (PAC) Houston Business Education Coalition (HBEC) which is the major contributor to candidates for the HCC Board. Coincidentally most all the participants in this PAC are associated with the Greater Houston Partnership (GHP).
